We have been left deeply saddened at the sudden and unexpected passing of the Mayor of Waltham Forest, Councillor Chris Robbins on Monday the 5th April 2021 and extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to his family and colleagues at LBWF.

The active councillor was a champion of WIILMA and the local Leyton community he served for many years. He was also the Council leader for many years.

He was instrumental in supporting WIILMA when we came to him with just an idea back in 2019 and again despite the pandemic during Christmas 2021 found a way to extend his support to us during lock down, due to having to regrettably cancel his planned visit to our film set and volunteers at the last moment due to the increasing risks with COVID-19.

Our project particularly resonated with him as he was always keen to feed and entertain people who were isolated during Christmas.

We also sadly lost our very dear beneficiary and Ambassador Mary during 2021 and aim to honour the support you both gave to us and continue your legacy and support through the work of our charity.

May your soul rest in peace LBWF Mayor Cllr Robbins & Mary.
